NHL Playoff Hockey Pool 2009 - Rules

After some thought I have come up with a format for the pool. I want to make it simple for me to manage and easy for the participants as well since we all have busy lives, while still keeping it interesting.

Here are the rules:

Once the playoff match ups are set, each participant will need to submit all there picks for round 1 of the 2009 NHL Playoffs no later than 2 hours before the start of the first game. They will select a winner for each best of 7 playoff series as well as predict how many games the series will last. For example let's say this is a 1st round match up:

San Jose (1) vs Anaheim (8)
Prediction: San Jose wins series 4-2

Bonus:

Throughout the playoffs there will be a series of bonus predictions pertaining to teams, stats, players, or trivia and extra points will be awarded. For example:
How many goals will Joe Thornton score in the first round? or Who will lead in playoff scoring?

Game 7 Bonus:

For all game 7's throughout the playoffs there will be an additional game 7 bonus prediction and will be posted asap following game 6 and will close 2 hours before game 7 starts.

Scoring System:

Round 1:
Correct series winner + correct number of games played = 20 points
Correct series winner + wrong number of games played = 15 points
Wrong series winner + correct number of games played = 5 points
Wrong series winner + wrong number of games played = 0 points
Bonus = 5 points
Game 7 Bonus = 5 points

Round 2:
Correct series winner + correct number of games played = 30 points
Correct series winner + wrong number of games played = 20 points
Wrong series winner + correct number of games played = 10 points
Wrong series winner + wrong number of games played = 0 points
Bonus = 10 points
Game 7 Bonus = 10 points


Round 3 - Conference Finals:
Correct series winner + correct number of games played = 40 points
Correct series winner + wrong number of games played = 25 points
Wrong series winner + correct number of games played = 15 points
Wrong series winner + wrong number of games played = 0 points
Bonus = 15 points
Game 7 Bonus = 15 points

Round 3 - Stanley Cup Finals:
Correct series winner + correct number of games played = 60 points
Correct series winner + wrong number of games played = 35 points
Wrong series winner + correct number of games played = 25 points
Wrong series winner + wrong number of games played = 0 points
Bonus = 25 points
Game 7 Bonus = 25 points

The winner will receive praise from all other participants plus their picture up in lights atop this blog through the summer until the start of the 2009/2010 NHL regular season (providing I have a picture of the winner).
